About the role…

Our Finance Team have an opportunity available for a Corporate Tax Manager! Having experienced significant growth over recent years, we are now looking to expand our existing tax team. The role provides an opportunity to join one of the fastest growing businesses in the UK, giving the candidate exposure to a broad range of UK and international corporate tax matters within a supportive and dynamic team with excellent opportunities for future progression.

Reporting to the Corporate Tax Director and based in Blackburn this position will play a pivotal role in supporting the business with its corporate tax obligations. The ideal candidate will be ACA/CTA qualified with compliance and reporting experience gained in a Big 4 accountancy firm, as well as some knowledge of international groups.

The day-to-day role will be to provide assistance with managing the group corporate tax compliance process, including quarterly and annual group reporting, UK financial statement tax disclosures and corporate interest restriction calculations. The role will also include managing and supporting on a variety of other corporate tax matters such as maintaining the group tax risk framework, transfer pricing, country-by country reporting, CFC reviews and supporting on M&A transactions, as well as a host of other international matters.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with finance teams in all jurisdictions to provide details on accounting processes and transactions
  • Build and maintain relationships with key finance personnel across the business
  • Preparation of quarterly/year end group tax disclosures in IFRS
  • Supporting the corporate tax director on broader tax projects such as group debt restructuring, M&A transactions and post-acquisition restructuring
  • Ongoing maintenance and improvements to existing tax controls and tax risk frameworks
  • Oversee compliance process for non UK entities to ensure that deadlines are being met by finance personnel and assist with any tax related queries
  • Working with external advisers on the production of UK corporate income tax computations including preparation of UK capital allowances analysis, detailed review of tax treatment of transaction fees, and review of the corporate interest restriction calculation
  • Provide support with other corporate tax matters as required and ensuring ongoing compliance with the groups corporate tax compliance obligations

Candidate Requirements

  • ACA and/or CTA qualified
  • Big 4 Experience would be preferred
  • Corporate Tax experience for large companies & consolidated groups, which includes tax accounting and compliance
  • Exposure to financial reporting under IFRS
  • A strong UK Tax technical skill set
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • IT literate with advanced Excel skills
  • Exposure to International Tax matters would be beneficial
  • Ability to adapt and respond to on-going change in business
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills
