As a key member of the esteemed Corporate team, you'll be at the forefront of advising clients on a diverse range of corporate matters, from mergers and acquisitions to corporate restructurings and beyond.

About the Team

  • The Financial Services Regulatory team operates within the Corporate Department and constitutes an integral part of the firm-wide, interdisciplinary Regulatory Group.
  • With extensive expertise, they assist both regulated and unregulated entities and individuals in adhering to the regulations and obligations stipulated under UK financial services legislation, alongside the FCA and the PRA.

The diverse clientele encompasses entrepreneurs, deal makers, investment firms, alternative finance providers, as well as businesses operating within the crypto and digital asset realm.

Responsibilities:

  • Assessment of the necessity for FCA authorization
  • Providing structural advice, encompassing guidance on collective investment schemes, joint venture arrangements, and alternative investment funds
  • Overseeing the ongoing regulatory commitments for FCA authorized firms, inclusive of regulated investment managers, advisers, and introducers/arrangers
  • Navigating the marketing of financial products and fundraising; Managing appointed representative arrangements
  • Handling change of control applications pertaining to M&A and re-structuring transactions
  • Understanding and implementing the Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and Transfer of Funds (Information on the Payer) Regulations 2017
  • Applying the UK regulatory framework to crypto-businesses, offering advice on security tokens and NFT issuance; and Interpreting the FCA Rules and Guidance.

Skills/Experience:

  • The ideal candidate should hold the position of Associate with a minimum of 2 years PQE gained at a reputable law firm, specializing in financial services regulatory matters.
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Capability to effectively manage one’s workload, assuming a truly client-facing role.
  • Proficiency in communicating with individuals at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team setting.
  • Ability to oversee matters with minimal supervision.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational prowess.
  • Interest in engaging in business development endeavors, both internally and externally.
