Corporate Account Handler

Posted 11 March by Aston Charles Ltd
Salary icon £30,000 - £45,000 per annum, negotiable
Location icon Newcastle Upon Tyne , Tyne And Wear

Whether your aspirations lie in mastering the art of Corporate Account Handling for the long-term, or in rising through the ranks and becoming an Account Manager, Account Executive and, ultimately Director, there can be few better firms to help realise your ambitions than this global insurance broker!

This broker’s Newcastle office is its highest grossing in the country after its City of London operation, and controls some of the largest and most complex insurance programmes held in the North, including well-known FTSE100 constituents and international PLCs.

Furthermore, as one may expect from a firm that has won the prestigious 'World’s Most Ethical Insurance Business" award for 10 consecutive years, it has a fine reputation for taking the progression and professional development of its staff very seriously indeed!

Here, you will play a key part in the day-to-day management of a portfolio of corporate clients generating £250-300K. Whilst the exact make-up of the accounts that you will be working on can be tweaked to reflect your skills, experiences and ambitions, it is envisioned that your clients will be from a range of sectors, but with a potential bias towards property, construction, manufacturing and engineering risks. Once again, your account can vary in terms of complexity depending on your technical ability, and comprise clients that generate income anywhere from £20K brokerage through to six-figure fees.

Working in close conjunction with some of the North’s most talented insurance professionals, you will build a detailed understanding of your clients’ businesses. To aid you in this, and to ensure a superb rapport with your clients, you will get the opportunity to accompany Account Executives and Directors on quarterly reviews etc. You will scrutinise clients’ insurance programmes, and where gaps in cover exist, suggest innovative and cost-effective ways to mitigate these. You will also be responsible for mid-term amendments, preparing renewals, and answering any day to day queries that may arise. You shall also be tasked with writing a variety of reports and associated documentation to support suggestions made and work undertaken.

This forward-thinking broker can accommodate flexible-working for candidates once they are up to speed on systems and processes. For days when you are at your desk, you will be based in start of the art offices at the Quayside, close to all the bus routes, parking, local bars, shops and amenities.

In return, you will receive a fantastic basic salary that is entirely negotiable, together with a comprehensive range of company benefits, including support towards professional qualifications under the CII if desired.
