Novax Recruitment is actively seeking a Coroner Administrative Assistant and Court Usher based in Westminster. This is a contract role working full time hours.

The Job:

• Assist and support HM Coroner, Deputy Coroner's, Coroner's Court Manager, and the Metropolitan Police Coroner's Officers with administrative duties
• Assist with the management of the court diary and jury inquests, including swearing in parties during hearings, calling people into court/hearing rooms, keeping parties informed of changes in hearing times and taking inquests into court
• Issue forms that enable the registrar of births, marriages and deaths to register deaths and issue forms for funeral directors.
• General administrative assistance within the offices of the Coroner's jurisdiction. This assistance will include; administration of the post, organising meetings, dealing with telephone queries and responding to letters/emails

The candidate:

• Experience working in a legal environment is essential, preferably inquests or coroners
• Knowledge of the coronial system
• Strong communication skills both orally and verbally

This role is a mobile role and the successful candidate will be required to cover multiple sites across London.
