Contracts Director - Defence

A global leading defence business are currently recruiting for a Contracts Director based in Buckinghamshire area on a fulltime permanent (hybrid working).

Role - Contracts Director (Defence)

Location - Buckinghamshire (hybrid working)

Salary - Extremely competitive (DOE) + bonus + benefits

Key responsibilities for Contracts Director and will not be limited to:

• UK site responsibilities across 3 locations with overall responsibility for delivery of contract management and overall commercial function.
• Provide leadership and team management responsibility of C.6-7 direct reports
• Ensure commercial risk are managed and resolved accordingly, and that management plans are agreed and understood across business functions.
• Manage commercial risk and opportunities through strategic review in collaborate with key multi-level stakeholders across the business unit.
• Will include hands on contract management activities to lead and provide commercial input for major tenders, preparing quotations, leading negotiations, preparation contractual agreements and managing contracts through to completion where needed.
• Lead negotiations with customers and partners on acceptable terms and conditions during bid/award and project execution phases where needed.

Key skills and experience required for Commercial Manager job applicant and will not be limited to:

• Proven experience within a Senior Commercial Management role, defence is preferred
• Experience in managing commercial risk, ideally working in a Commercial Management role
• Broad business awareness enabling an appropriate contribution at a senior level
• Knowledge of the contract development process, contract terms and conditions is a prerequisite for this role
• Eligibility to gain UK SC clearance - UK Eyes only.
