INTRODUCTION

We are working with an independent local building services company who are looking for a Contract Manager to join their team, due to an increase of workload. You will be working within a company that prides themselves on high standards of service, with a personable and approachable attitude.

If you are looking to join a company where your contributions are valued, and where you can see the direct results of your hard work, then this role could be the perfect fit for you. This permanent role offers the opportunity to work in a non-corporate environment, and make a real difference in a smaller, close-knit company.

THE COMPANY

You will be working for an independent family-founded local business, who services a range of clients in the local area, both private and public. As a natural leader, with a passion for driving projects forward, you will be working in a fast-paced environment managing contracts from pricing through to handover.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF A CONTRACT MANAGER

  • Client management; you will typically look after a client rather than a job. Clients are on a framework, so you could be managing several smaller jobs concurrently, or one large job, all for the same client.
  • Ordering materials and managing lead times
  • Managing a small on-site team of employees and / or subcontractors: anywhere from 1 or 2, upwards, depending on the job.
  • Bringing in jobs on time and in budget.
  • Leading Site / Progress meetings
  • Some quoting, but with support.
  • Calculating applications and final invoices
  • Reporting to the Operations Director

REQUIREMENTS OF A CONTRACT MANAGER

  • A building, joinery, or plastering background would be most suited for this position, but mechanical or electrical background would still be considered.
  • Ideally your background will be from a trade, progressing through into management.
  • Experience in full contract management.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks effectively, with a hands-on approach to problem solving.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities to effectively manage and motivate the team.

DETAILS

  • Preston
  • On-site parking
  • Split between Office and Site based
  • Monday - Friday only
  • Salary up to £45,000 depending on experience
