IT Talent proudly presents a unique 8-month contract role within a prestigious financial services organization, emphasizing legal entity governance, first-line risk management, and particularly focusing on Consumer Duty. This position represents a remarkable opportunity to lead in the enhancement of governance frameworks, with a specific lens on Consumer Duty, and to play a pivotal role in strategic regulatory initiatives.

Contract Details:

  • Duration: 8 months
  • Day Rate: £625 (Inside IR35)
  • Location: Flexible Hybrid working arrangement, with the client based in London.

Role Overview:

In this critical first-line management position, you'll not only support and enhance legal entity governance and manage programs related to Governance and First-Line Risk Management but also play a central role in integrating Consumer Duty into the governance models. Your work will be instrumental in coordinating governance structures, contributing to key committees, and spearheading strategic regulatory projects with a strong focus on Consumer Duty, thereby enhancing the organization's compliance and service quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the administration of the organization’s internal controls systems with an emphasis on Consumer Duty.
  • Regularly update and contribute to the Operations and Outsourcing Committee, focusing discussions on Consumer Duty compliance.
  • Lead sub-committees towards enhancements in governance with a spotlight on Consumer Duty.
  • Liaise with group governance representatives to uphold and exceed Consumer Duty best practices.
  • Spearhead strategic regulatory projects to refine governance models, with a particular focus on integrating Consumer Duty principles.
  • Advocate for First-Line Risk Management Lifecycle with a Consumer Duty perspective.

Experience and Skills Required:

  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience in the financial industry, with significant exposure to Governance, First-Line Risk Management, and Consumer Duty.
  • In-depth knowledge of FCA requirements, especially regarding Consumer Duty.
  • Proven ability to operate within a global matrix structure.
  • Exceptional communication skills with proficiency in drafting and reviewing critical documents.
  • Demonstrated experience in engaging with regulators and navigating the regulatory examination process.

  • Robust relationship management and proactive engagement capabilities.
  • Expertise in managing multiple projects and tasks concurrently.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Passionate about understanding the financial services community, with a specific interest in the online payments business.

Team Dynamics:

  • You will be joining a growing team, which is set to expand from 4 to 10 members, fostering a collaborative and expressive environment.
  • This role demands a high level of interaction with senior stakeholders, underscoring the importance of your contribution.

Candidate Profile:

  • Profound understanding of governance, particularly in a Payments organization, with a keen focus on Consumer Duty.
  • Extensive Program Management experience across various workstreams, demonstrating the ability to lead projects with a Consumer Duty focus.
  • Exceptional presentation (PPT) and communication skills.
  • Ideally possessing a background in banking/payments, with Mid/Senior level experience. While a degree is preferred, substantial experience is paramount.
