Penguin Recruitment have teamed with a fully-independent Ecology Consultancy in Surrey who are expanding and have space for a Consultant Ecologist to join the team. This is a fantastic opportunity because they're a well established and expert consultancy, with a small team. So you can have both the expert support and know-how to help springboard your development as an Ecologist, but in a warm and friendly environment.
The Consultant Ecologist position can offer a salary of £28,000 - £32,000 as a guide, and this will depend on your experience, Hybrid Working (3 days in the office in Surrey per week), variety of projects, career progression, professional training and more.
You main duties as a Consultant Ecologist will be to conduct a range of ecological surveys and reports for clients in a variety of industries, from development, utilities, private, conservation and others. You will manage projects, and provide best advice and practice. You will also lead some surveys, and help support the development of Assistant Ecologists.
To be considered for the Consultant Ecologist position, you will need access to your own car, hold a relevant degree, have proven ecological consultancy experience and hold a membership with CIEEM. You must be comfortable with conducting and reporting surveys such as PEAs and PRAs. If you hold protected species licences, or are working towards licences then this is a desirable. Knowledge and understanding of BNG (Biodiversity Net Gain) is also a desirable.
