Position: Computer Science Teacher Location: Tavistock - Full time or part time
Company Overview: The Supply Register are a managed service working alongside 4 large multi academy trusts within Devon & Cornwall. We are currently seeking experienced and adaptable Secondary Supply Teachers to join our team on a temporary basis to cover short-term absences and maintain continuity of education for our students.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver comprehensive computer science curriculum that aligns with national standards and fosters computational thinking skills.
- Teach a range of computer science courses, including programming languages, algorithms, data structures, and computer systems.
- Integrate hands-on projects, coding challenges, and real-world applications to enhance student learning and engagement.
- Provide constructive feedback and support to students as they develop coding skills, troubleshoot problems, and complete projects.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive classroom culture that celebrates diversity, creativity, and perseverance.
- Stay abreast of advancements in technology and educational trends in computer science to continuously enhance teaching practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Teaching certification/license in Computer Science or relevant teaching experience.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, or JavaScript.
- Strong understanding of computer science concepts, including algorithms, data structures, and software development methodologies.
- Experience with educational technology tools and platforms for teaching computer science.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
