Our well established financial services client based in Northwich are currently looking for a Compliance Risk Officer to join their team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to gain knowledge of this specialist area. In addition, the job holder will need an understanding of the overall business activity and will support both the Compliance Team and the Deputy Head of Compliance to achieve the objectives.

What does the role entail?

As a Compliance Risk Officer, you will be providing support, advice and guidance on compliance framework, policies and procedures, which will facilitate the business in identifying, assessing and managing compliance risk within the business. You will also be making sure all compliance work is carried out to the required level of competence, regularly reviewing and keeping up to date with changes in regulatory, legislative and market practices that impact the business.

What skills will you have?

To become a Compliance Risk Officer you must meet the below requirements:

• regulatory horizon scanning
• gap analysis of consultation papers from the regulator
• regular compliance monitoring of business processes
• thematic reviews
• good FCA/PRA handbook knowledge including CASS, MiFID, COBS, BCOBS, DISP, SMCR
• complaint handling
• experience of Compliance report writing for Senior Management Committees
• experience of policy reviews and policy updates
• compliance governance and oversight
• implementation of new regulation within a business
• regulatory reporting to the regulator
• data protection/GDPR
• business continuity
