Compliance Monitoring Assistant

£33,000

Southampton

Our client, a law firm based in Southampton, is currently recruiting for a Compliance Monitoring Assistant to join their dynamic team. The position entails 35 hours per week, with a 60-minute lunch break, and standard working hours from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The main responsibilities of the role include conducting periodic Anti-Money Laundering (AML) reviews of existing customers to ensure compliance with relevant legislation. This involves reviewing Customer Due Diligence (CDD), engaging with clients and firm members to update CDD as necessary, conducting open-source searches via independent intelligence databases, and accurately updating data management systems for ongoing sanctions screening. The Compliance Monitoring Assistant will report to the Head of Risk and Compliance.

Key tasks also include maintaining the electronic filing system, assessing client risk, and escalating issues to senior compliance and management when necessary. Additionally, the role may involve assisting with other compliance tasks such as onboarding.

Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years' relevant experience, with previous experience in a CDD/AML role being advantageous. Proficiency in Microsoft applications, particularly Excel and Word, is required, and experience with Viewpoint and InTapp would be beneficial.
