Compliance Advisor Apprenticeship

Salary - £15,000 per annum (plus benefits)
Hours - 40 hours per week, 08:30 am to 16:30 pm
Location Postcode - ME12 3AJ

As a Compliance Advisor Apprentice at FCC Environment, you will complete a level 6 chartered managers degree in all areas of the day to day running of our site on the Ilse of Sheppey from Environmental to Supervisory aspects.

Once trained and proficient in these areas, you will advise and give guidance to the site manager, who is responsible for managing the environmental compliance at your designated facilities.

This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days per week, however, we will consider requests for job shares to suit your lifestyle (working full days).

What will you be doing?

- Ensuring the company’s Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Policies and Procedures are implemented.
- Advising the site manager on compliance with environmental legislation.
- Ensuring that the monitoring schedule is up to date.
- Facilitating good working relationships with the Environment Agency.
- Reporting breaches of permitted control and trigger levels, developing action plans.
- Producing technical and environmental reports.
- Advising and supporting site managers in the management and induction of contractors.
- Managing the administration processes for all environmental procurement.
- Advising on the effectiveness of leachate management systems on site.
- Supporting the procurement of additional internal resource and/or 3rd party contractors.
- Assisting in the procurement of environmental infrastructure.
- Liaising and attending meetings with Infinis on all landfill gas issues.
- Proposing permit variations to improve environmental performance.
- Attending and responding to public complaints, maintaining a register.
- Conducting site environmental inspections and update procedures.
- Attending virtual team meetings and closing out allocated actions.
- Being involved in both internal and external IMS audits.
- Visiting other sites across Kent and Essex when compliance issues arise.
