Complex Care Support Worker - Cheshire

Prospero are proud to be working with one of our local authorities on a new project for Support Workers based in different locations across the Cheshire area.

Rates up to £25 per hour, working short shifts ranging from 1-4 hours supporting children with complex needs and families.

As a Support Worker you will be supporting families with healthy routines, organisation, assessment, behaviour, coping, boundary setting, stimulating engagement and maintaining the household. Ultimately working to safeguard children from any risk of potential harm while also implementing strategies to improve family life.

Working as a Support Worker you will:

  • Work on the front line with vulnerable children and families, promoting positive change and a safe lifestyle for families to remain together as a unit.
  • Using the goals/concerns/reasons of the local authorities involvement to guide your practise and where to support/observe.
  • Making connections with children and families and build rapport whilst understanding professional boundaries.
  • Understand the sensitive nature and complexities of the cases and carry out duties accordingly.
  • Be a supporting aid to the family/children whilst also observing objectively and accurately.

To be successful Support Worker you should have:

  • Minimum of six months experience working with children and young people or vulnerable adults in a similar capacity to the above.
  • An understanding of children's developmental stages and milestones.
  • A current DBS on the update service or willing to obtain one.
  • Holding a Level 3 or equivalent in Children & Young People (desirable but not essential)
  • Desirable to drive or willing to travel locally.
