We are seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The role involves motivating service users to engage with the local community and participate in activities that positively impact their lives. This position requires a commitment to providing structure and stability, fostering positive relationships, and supporting the holistic development of young people.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Motivate and support service users to access the local community and engage in positive activities.
- Commit to assignments to ensure consistent structure and stability for service users.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with young people, offering unconditional and positive regard.
- Act as a role model, demonstrating appropriate pro-social ways of dealing with problems.
- Follow and adapt care plans to reflect the changing needs of young people.
- Meet the physical, emotional, behavioural, cultural, and educational needs of young people.
- Provide emotional support during times of difficulty or stress.
- Be ambitious for young people, helping them achieve their goals and optimise their potential.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Suitable to work with children & young people within a care setting.
- Ability to relate to and communicate with young people, maintaining appropriate relationships and boundaries.
- Awareness of safeguarding issues and the ability to safeguard the welfare of young people.
- Emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours.
- Minimum of 6 months experience working in the care sector in the UK.
- Right to work in the UK.
- An up-to-date DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for a new DBS with our support.
- Reference information covering the last 5 years of work history.
