Communications Officer - Highways

Start: May 2024 (ASAP)

Rate: £23-£25 per hour, negotiable (Umbrella, Inside IR35)

Duration: Monthly rolling contract

Working pattern: Remote, Part Time, 20 hours per week 

Our client is currently looking for a Communications Officer with experience of planning, delivering and evaluating communications to join them in a fully remote role on a part-time basis.

They are seeking someone with specific Highways experience. 

In this role you will use media relations, commercial and social marketing techniques to deliver your communications objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver communications activity, which is designed to manage reputation, deliver behaviour change or generate income
  • Create high quality content that can be used across several channels, including traditional media, social media, online, face-to-face engagement and internal channels
  • Ensure your activity has clear reputation, behaviour change and/or income-related objectives which are evaluated on a monthly basis
  • Implement research activities in order to identify priorities and evaluate activities

Requirements:

  • Experience of working in a communications or marketing environment
  • Experience of producing content – for press releases, articles, advertising, videos, or social media
  • Experience of event planning and delivery
  • Knowledge of digital and social media
  • Excellent range of verbal and written communication, including
  • Able to build strong relationships
