We are currently working with a Local Authority in the South West who is looking for someone to come in a Head of Communications level to lead and be part of an overarching change initiative to renew and modernise the Authorities image in the eyes on the wider population. This would include renewing public engagement in local heritage sites as well as the wider band of the local area.

Job: Communications and Marketing Strategy Lead

Duration: 12 months

Site presence: Hybrid, 2 days on site minimum

Initial details

  • Review the current marketing and comms strategy for the authority and drive forward new external communications strategy
  • Redevelop and modernise the brand outreach for the local area
  • Oversee the delivery of engagement plans and various content streams to help achieve new public image
  • Handle marketing for heritage and UNESCO sites within the local area to help boost public engagement
  • Using a range of channels to manage the delivery of the communications and engagement strategy

Requirement

  • Previous experience up to head of Communications/Marketing level
  • Demonstrative experience delivering inclusive and accessible communications and engagement campaigns, demonstrably reaching a broad audience
  • Experience delivering brand management in a Local Authority setting
  • Historic + UNESCO town/city experience highly desired or brand outreach for publicly owned heritage sites
