Salary: £25,000

The Opportunity
This is an exciting role where you will have full responsibility for communications within the Practice between the Fee Earner and the Client(s). As you grow and develop you will be upskilled to take on additional responsibilities and provided with specific training to help you further your career.

The Role
You will be joining a busy conveyancing department dealing with a range of administrative and clerical tasks. You will mainly be responsible for the efficient presentation of documents and letters and other communications. You'll be expected to work accurately and efficiently in a high-volume environment. You will be:
  • Drafting and preparing bills
  • Preparation of instructions for the cashier
  • Deal with initial enquiries either via the phone or e-mail
  • Order property searches and carry out necessary client ID checks
  • Prepare correspondence and documents including audio typing or digital dictation
  • Land Registry management, HMRC, Searchflow and other agencies involved in commercial conveyancing transactions
  • Reception duties as required

Our Ideal Candidate
We are looking for an individual with strong interpersonal skills and knowledge of residential property transactions. Ideally this position would be the next step up in your career and would suit someone who already has exposure to this field of work. Naturally a good personality will assist your application, but we are wanting someone who has a keen eye for detail! Furthermore, we are looking for the following:
  • Proficient IT skills, strong literacy and numeracy skills
  • Effective customer-friendly communication for handling enquiries
  • Skill in prioritising workloads and meeting tight deadlines
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to work
  • Capacity to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Prior experience as a Legal Secretary (beneficial)
