About the Job:

As the Commercial & Procurement Officer/Administrator you will be responsible for delivering results through taking ownership of key tasks in delivery of the Department and Company's objectives. You will support the Head of Department, Commercial Manager, Procurement Manager and Legal & Commercial Associate in the delivery of LPGC projects.

LondonEnergy operates the second largest waste contract in the UK, handling, and processing nearly 750,000 tonnes of London's waste every year. We have a dedicated team of people working across North London making a difference to the environment and the local community from the work we do.

By processing household waste at our facility, we produce enough waste from energy to power 80,000 homes every year and recycle 70% of items through our Reuse and Recycling Centres.

Responsibilities

  • Working with various team members in assisting with general administrative duties within the team, including but not limited to managing the departmental posts in relation to procurement matters and PO/Invoice requests (including matching, queries, reconciliation etc.), support the delivery of the departmental objectives and engagement with key stakeholders.
  • Ensuring key procurement documents are kept updated and communicated where required including assisting with the delivery and administration of the commercial and procurement training and engagement strategy.
  • Managing the Procurement inbox.
  • Assisting and managing supplier additions for projects.
  • Maintaining contractual records and related documentation
  • Maintaining supplier insurance policies and other governance information when required.
  • Maintaining and renewing supplier contracts under the public procurement threshold.
  • Supporting the Commercial & Procurement Managers with taking meeting notes at Stakeholder and Supplier meetings and tracking actions
  • Supporting the Sustainable Procurement Strategy including reporting in the annual Sustainability Report etc.
  • Assisting the Legal assistant with the resolution of supplier contract-related issues that arise
  • Assisting with buying spares and consumables where required and ensure that accurate purchasing data on D365 is maintained
  • Managing and ensuring operational efficiency of the company's Procurement Project Workflow (PAWS)

Requirements

In order to be considered for this role, we are looking for the following skills and experience:

  • Interested in operating in a renewable energy environment and contributing to a business in transition
  • Willingness to learn and implement best practice in relation to the other functions of the department
  • Flexibility in approach to completing multiple tasks with the ability to work within a team environment but also on solo projects
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
  • Commercially minded i.e. used to operating in a 'for profit' environment and interested in contributing to a growing business
  • Ability to work under pressure in delivering high quality governance service to internal stakeholders and the board
  • Excellent influencing and relationship building skills
  • Able to work well as part of a team
  • Experience working under pressure and having a clear understanding of the delivery of high quality service
  • Experience of public sector would be an asset
  • Previous experience of working on small projects would be an advantage

  • The salary is competitive, £38,000 -£45,000 depending on experience
