Hays are partnering exclusively with a global manufacturing group to recruit a dynamic and experienced Commercial Manager, based in their Lydney, Gloucestershire site. An interesting and hands-on permanent position providing full commercial, contractual, and business development support for the operating business on both a local and international level. You will be the lead in commercial tenders and manage cross-functional co-ordination of stakeholders in various bid processes. Your new role


Your key duties will involve supporting new and existing international business, reviewing/developing processes to drive improved performance and maximise growth. Work with the commercial team to support the international enquiry workload, partner with various departments and stakeholders to lead and drive technical and commercial offers, resulting in winning bids. You will be responsible for the full detailed review of client tender enquiry requirements, presentations, and recommendations to the senior leadership team. You will manage risk assessments and mitigation for bids, proposals, and new business, support cross-functional teams in commercial matters and remain aware of the latest market trends, sectors, and developments. You will prepare pricing strategies, benchmarking, and full cost estimation models, lead the negotiation of contractual terms, and maintain client commercial contact on key projects. You will be involved in ad-hoc commercial projects for the senior management team, process improvement, and liaise with other team members when required to support their professional growth and business needs.


What you'll need to succeed


To be considered for this permanent Commercial Manager role, you will need experience within a similar position, ideally within the manufacturing or construction services sectors. Experience in contract terms and conditions both locally and internationally, strong presentation and communication skills with excellent attention to detail. You will be able to manage your own workloads, prioritise tasks, with a proactive and self-motivated working approach. You will be a key team player who can build relationships both internally and externally at all levels, with the ability to motivate others. You will be confident in improving commercial processes and used to adapting to business needs. It would be advantageous, but not essential, if you have knowledge of commercial exports, payment mechanisms, letters of credit, and recognise various cultures in an international operating environment.


What you'll get in return


This permanent Commercial Manager role offers a salary between £50,000 - £55,000 per annum, dependable on experience based in Lydney, Gloucestershire.
