Within this role, you will assist the Financial Controller in preparing monthly accounts and reporting packs, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Additionally, you'll play a vital role in supporting budget and forecast processes, liaising with various stakeholders including board members, senior management, department heads, and group directors. You'll also take charge of overseeing the day-to-day finance operations of the organisation, including managing the finance team effectively.

This is a permanent, full-time role opportunity working 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday. You’ll enjoy a hybrid working arrangement, granting the flexibility to work remotely from home while requiring a minimum of 2 days per week at the Wigan or Manchester office. The annual salary for this position falls within the range of £65,000 - £70,000 with the specifics to be discussed during the hiring process.

Calisen is in an exciting and strong position where we are seeing growth and development in all areas of the business, and we now have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Business Partner to join our finance department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reporting monthly margin performance for all contracts, providing commentary for the underlying performance vs budget and forecasts.
• Providing insightful analysis to support the business and improve margin performance vs budget. Ensuring costs are accurately allocated across all contracts and methodology is understood.
• Scenario planning the impact on sales and margin to support / challenge potential commercial and operational decisions.
• Supporting the annual budget and quarterly re-forecasting process, working closely with the Operational and Commercial Directors and other budget holders.
• Contribute to the short term forecasts and planning of the business, providing detailed understanding of how current trading performance compares to budget.
• Review and challenge operational and commercial planning, identifying risks and opportunities vs budget.
• Business partnering with cross-functional teams, supporting commercial decision making by communicating MI to the Senior Leadership Team.
• Review financial results and provide detailed insight from supporting data to help the business understand the key drivers of performance.
• Define and own the business partnering framework, implementing and embed a business partner model, with a focus on cost control and delivering improved financial performance of the business.
• Any other ad hoc duties as requested.

What we are looking for
• Higher level education (A-Level, Degree etc. or equivalent).
• Professional Accounting Qualification (P/Q – ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
• At least 3 years previous experience working in a similar role
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment
• Experience of producing annual budgets and monthly forecasts
• Strong commercial and operational finance awareness.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Keen desire to question and challenge information and trends.
• Effective organisational and prioritisation skills
