College Nurse
- Location: North Devon
- Job Type: Full-time 37 hours per week
- Salary up to £34297 per annum
- Coordinate the administration of medicine to learners and monitor their health care needs.
- Act as the college Designated Senior Mental Health Lead and create care plans for learners with health-related needs.
- Liaise with external health partners and cross-college teams to support learners with health needs.
- Monitor and record the administration of medication and medical conditions of learners on-site.
- Provide practical advice and support to parents, carers, and staff regarding health-related matters.
- Coordinate training for staff on administering medication and create internal health care plans.
- Work with the Health and Safety Officer to create risk assessments for learners requiring medication.
- Support the Safeguarding Team in managing learners at risk and facilitate access to external support agencies.
- Promote health & wellbeing and engagement in study programs for learners.
- Be a point of contact for sharing information between parents, guardians, external services, and the college.
- Experience in a health care or educational support role.
- Strong understanding of health care needs and medication administration.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with various stakeholders.
- Ability to create and implement care plans and risk assessments.
- Knowledge of safeguarding practices and commitment to promoting welfare.
- Experience working with learners with Learning Disabilities is desirable
- Hold NMC Registration
