About our client:

They are a long-established family-owned business focused on precision machined parts. They manufacture high precision mechanical components for various high technology applications including Aerospace, Nuclear, Laser, Medical and many other industries. They operate state of the art CNC turning equipment and produce some very intricate closely toleranced components. They offer a first-class working environment in their purpose-built premises.

Our client is currently seeking to recruit a fully skilled CNC Turner Programmer / Setter / Operator.

You will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC sliding head lathes equipped with Mitsubishi controls, manufacturing short and medium batch high precision components in a wide variety of materials. Typical work materials are stainless steel and high nickel alloys. You will be driven by a passion for quality and will be experienced in using a variety of inspection instruments to monitor product quality throughout a batch.

Experience of operating sliding head machines would be a distinct advantage.

Requirements:

  • Time served, fully skilled machinist experienced in working with stainless steel and high nickel alloys.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience of CNC turning is required with the ability to efficiently program and select appropriate tooling.
  • Qualified to NVQ level 3 or higher.
  • Experience in the manufacture of low volume high quality instrument and or aerospace type components.
  • Experience with Mitsubishi controls and multi-axis sub-spindle machines.
  • Diligent flexible approach and a fine eye for detail.
  • Good understanding of geometrical and dimensional tolerancing.

The successful candidate will be self-disciplined and possess the ability to remain on task when unsupervised. They will also be able to use their own initiative to efficiently progress work through the section.

What they offer:

  • £16.00 to £20.00 per hour (depending on experience)
  • Monday to Friday working week; 37.5 hour day shift
  • Overtime to be worked when required
