CNC Turning  Pre-Sales Engineer 
Permanent position

Key Responsibilities
  • To gain indepth knowledge of competitors and their product range.
  • To compile and maintain in an up to date condition a comprehensive feature/benefits list on individual products within the product range.
  • To develop customer presentation material to demonstrate to both customers and potential customers, the major features and benefits  and our product range.
  • To develop strong sales arguments for the relevant product range in terms of customers benefits and competitor differentiations.
  • To develop a strong relationship with individual members of the regional sales team in order to promote the sale of the products within each individual area in line with target commitments.
  • Support potential customer justification applications and product analysis with high quality technical information, cycle times, synthetics and proposals.
  • Provide technical presentations to customers using Microsoft PowerPoint, CADCAM and 3D modelling software.
  • To provide sales support in order to produce both standard and customer specific demonstrations, applications expertise, tooling and work holding recommendations.
  • To liaise with tooling and workholding suppliers to enable loan and control of showroom tooling to enable top quality demonstrations to show the stock machines in the best possible light with minimum cost to the company.
  • To provide fully detailed project costings, and technical files to hand over to engineering department following receipt of order.  To work with engineering department to provide project control and hand over within cost and timescales identified.
  • At the direction of the Technical Director to carry out commercial negotiations with suppliers on behalf of the Company within pre-agreed limits in order to obtain the best possible gross margins and sales values for the Company.
  • To produce reports regarding the market situation, competitor activity and any other items within the area of responsibility as directed by the Technical Director.
  • To maintain good relationships with key personnel of the machine tool suppliers and maintain indepth knowledge of existing and new products.
  • To maintain contact with suppliers of machine tool accessory equipment to enable maximum machine tool utilisation.

Skills & abilities               
  • In-depth knowledge of Siemens Control Systems: Strongly preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of Heidenhain Control Systems: Strongly preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of Fanuc Control Systems: Essential
  • Knowledge of 3D modelling and CAM software systems: Essential
  • Experience with Robot Automation on machine tools
  • Hands on experience of setting / operating and programming of multi axis machine tools: Essential
  • Mainly office-based role so must be within commuting distance
  • Robot automation experience: preferred
