Job Title: CNC Operator/Setter

Renowned for their commitment to quality and precision, our client specializes in producing high-end components for luxury brands. They are currently seeking a dedicated CNC Operator/Setter to join their team and contribute to their continued success.

Overview:
As a CNC Operator/Setter, you will play a pivotal role in the manufacturing process, ensuring that components are produced to the highest standards of quality and precision. Working closely with the CNC Setting team, you will be responsible for setting up machines, interpreting engineering drawings, and conducting quality assurance checks. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the production of luxury products.

Key Responsibilities:

Health, Safety, and Environmental Duties:
- Uphold health, safety, and environmental standards in line with company policies.
- Operate CNC machines in accordance with relevant safety procedures.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC Lathes efficiently.
- Familiarity with setting up and running Machining Centres is advantageous.
- Monitor CNC machines and oversee work in progress.
- Ensure manufacturing activities adhere to agreed quality standards and documentation.
- Conduct in-process quality assurance checks, including first-off inspection.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on machines.
- Report any operational or maintenance issues to the team leader.
- Collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in the work area.
- Undertake any other duties as required by the client.

Skills & Attributes:
- Proficiency in setting and running various CNC machines.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings accurately.
- Familiarity with CNC programs (ISO or conversational).
- Competence in operating inspection and measuring equipment, including a CMM.
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to changes.
- Ability to work independently and meet critical deadlines.
- Commitment to producing work of the highest quality.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Positive attitude, flexibility, and willingness to tackle challenges.

Knowledge, Qualifications, and Experience:
- Experience with MAZAK (Mazatrol), Citizen Miyano, and Traub machines preferred.
- Knowledge of Turning Centre, sliding head, and VMC 5 Axis machines is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated work ethic, punctuality, and time management skills.
- Appreciation of luxury brands and their specific requirements.
- Extensive knowledge of machining to exact tolerances.
- Previous experience as a CNC lathe setter/operator is desirable.
- Time served or apprenticeship qualifications preferred, depending on experience.
- Knowledge of ISO programs and control systems such as FANUC, Mazatrol, or Siemens is advantageous (training provided for skilled engineers).

Working hours:
Monday to Thursday 7am - 3:30pm
Friday 7am - 12 midday
37 hours pw

Salary: £14-£18ph (£27K - £35K) DOE
