CNC Operator / Machinist x2

We are working with a unique client in mid / west Cornwall who are presently seeking x2 CNC professionals to operate their machines and produce high quality, precision components for various applications and engineering sectors including automotive, aerospace and marine.

You will be joining a welcoming engineering team within an organisation that's in the midst of an exciting growth plan and who have recently secured some very niche, special projects. As part of their ongoing development strategy, they now have slots for a skilled CNC Setter / Operator and a more advanced CNC Machinist open for a start in May / June 2024.

Hours can be flexible, Monday to Friday with potential for overtime.

In terms of the roles:

CNC Operator / Setter: £27,000 to £30,000

• Setting up and operating CNC machines and controls (+ training with programming)
• Conducting machinery checks and adjustments as required
• Perform proper set-up and calibration procedures
• Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and accuracy of precision products meets company standards
• High attention to detail, checking products for damage and imperfections
• Assisting with the company's program of continuous improvement

CNC Machinist / Programmer: £27,000 to £35,000 (according to experience)

• Comfortable to work unsupervised and read / interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Experience in CNC programming for milling / turning machines
• Setting up machines for your own operation and to assist other Operators
• Establish that machined parts and correct and within tolerances to drawings
• Completing relevant documentation (quality, data sheets, maintenance reports...etc) as required
• Ensure machines are running to optimal level and helping resolve performance issues
• Good maths, attention to detail and problem solving skills
