Location: Nottingham
Salary Range: £33,000 to £38,500 per annum (depending on experience)

Job Description:
We are currently seeking a skilled CNC Machinist (CNC Miller), Programming Operating CNC Milling machines / Machine Centres, with experience in operating machines equipped with Fanuc-based controls.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for programming, setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC Machining Centres (CNC Mills) to produce high-quality parts according to specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Programming online and/or offline from engineering drawings (CADCAM experience would be an advantage but not essential, software is Fusion360)
  • Set up CNC milling machines equipped with Fanuc controls by loading materials, installing tooling, and inputting program parameters.
  • Operate CNC machines to perform Milling operations, while ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
  • Monitor machine operations, adjust as necessary, and troubleshoot any issues that may arise during production.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining requirements and ensure accuracy in part dimensions and tolerances.
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments to verify conformance to specifications and quality standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on CNC machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged components.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize production processes, improve efficiency, and achieve production targets.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or diploma in CNC machining or Apprenticeship gained in related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a CNC Milling Machine Operator with proficiency in programming & operating machines equipped with Fanuc-based controls.
  • CADCAM / Offline programming experience would be an advantage (especially with Fusion360)
  • Strong understanding of CNC machining principles, tooling selection, and cutting parameters.
  • Ability to interpret and understand G-code programming and Fanuc control interfaces.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Hours of Work:

  • 39hrs per week
  • Monday to Thursday: 7:30 am to 4:30 pm
  • Friday: 7:30 am to 12:30 pm
  • £16.00 to £19.00 p/hr (depending on experience)
