Job Title: CNC Miller

Reporting to: Engineering Manager

Hours of Work: 38.75 hours per week
7.00am to 4pm Monday to Thursday (45 minutes unpaid lunch break)
7.00am to 1.00pm Friday

Place of Work: West Sussex

Hourly Rate: £19 per hour negotiable

Business Summary
My client is an automotive specialist servicing all aspects of the Vintage community
Operating for over 20 years, and for the last ten years, the business trades on three key strengths:

1) Parts manufacture and supply
2) Workshop specialising in servicing, restoring and rally preparation
3) Vehicle sales and sourcing

Role Summary

  • Production of components on a 3 axis CNC milling machine, including work from forgings & castings. Setting & programming both at the control and offline using CAMWorks
  • Completion of workshop data to include setting sheets for new products and works order route cards.
  • Support the fitting & assembly department when required; using manual milling, turning, surface grinding & bench fitting skills.


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure Health and Safety regulations are met and safe working practices are adhered to
  • Working with the business to identify and agree manufacturing priorities and production schedules
  • Ensure maximium usage and output from the milling section; to achieve set deadlines supporting both customer deliveries and vehicle builds
  • Inspection of own work at the machine; and other's work. Previous CMM experience would be advantageous but training can be given.
  • Operate other production machines as directed
  • Carry out general workshop duties as directed (unloading, storing and cutting material, deburring and hand finishing where required)
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment and complete all necessary production control records (timesheets, inspection records etc)


Experience and Skills Required

  • Time served apprenticeship trained
  • Experience with Heidenhain controls; CAD and offline programming experiece would be benficial
  • High degree of accuracy combined with attention to detail
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Ability to take ownership of issues, with a proactive, collaborative can-do attitude
  • Minimum 2-3 years experience in similar role
