CNC Lathe Turner 

About the Role:

Due to continued growth and expansion plans we're recruiting for a Machinist - Lathe Turner to work alongside our existing teams within this busy engineering & manufacturing company.

Key Tasks:

Centre Lathe Turning:

  • Safely load and unload the lathes with material to be turned.
  • Setting and operation of manual and CNC lathes. Familiarity with Fanuc control systems required.
  • Turning a wide range of materials, from 100mm (4') Ø to 700mm (27.5') Ø, in 1mtr to 4mtr lengths.
  • Accurate and precise measurement using micrometres, verniers, gauges and callipers.
  • Interpret/read engineering drawings and route card instructions correctly.
  • Operator machine maintenance - pre-start checks, metalworking fluid checks, swarf removal, clean down etc.
  • Act responsibly and safely at all times.

Any other task as required by your manager.

About you:

The role involves machining bar and components from various materials such as Stainless Steel, Alloy Steels, Titanium and Inconel. 

Essential Skill Requirements:

  • Must be a team player and have the ability to work well with others (Essential)
  • Must have a safety conscious mindset (Essential)
  • Must have worked within a steel or heavy industry before (Essential)
  • Candidates must show demonstrable experience of machining different alloys
  • Willingness to take on additional training as required by the business
