Clinical Negligence Paralegal

My client is currently seeking a dedicated Clinical Negligence Paralegal to join their team in Liverpool. This role presents an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about their work and eager to contribute to the growing Clinical Negligence department.

Responsibilities:
  • The successful candidate will provide direct support to the team of Fee Earners, ensuring the department operates efficiently.
  • They will assist in managing cases, including taking liability and quantum statements from clients.
  • Conduct interviews with clients and witnesses, drafting statements as necessary.
  • Represent clients at hearings when appropriate.
  • Undertake progress chasing and routine post tasks under supervision.
  • Review medical records and consider limitation issues.
  • Prepare letters of instruction to experts.
  • Begin quantification of claims and gather financial information for schedules of damages.
  • Maintain communication with clients, providing updates and support in a professional manner.
  • Negotiate with third parties to secure the best outcomes for clients.
  • Handle post-issue claims, including working with barristers and producing legal documentation.
  • Attend client meetings with solicitors.

Requirements:
  • The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the Resolution of Clinical Disputes protocol.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills are essential.
  • They must possess the ability to prioritize workloads and use initiative effectively.
  • A Law degree and preferably passed the Legal Practice Course.
