A diligent Clerk of Works is now required to support a long-standing multidisciplinary consultancy that specialise in architecture, engineering, building surveying and project management in Leeds.

The successful Clerk of Works role

Duties of the Clerk of Works include:

  • Site visits within the Leeds area
  • Weekly reports
  • Reviewing drawings and ensuring project is inline with correct methods
  • Querying discrepancies
  • Report any Health and Safety concerns
  • Identifying defects and following up to ensure they have been rectified
  • Strong working knowledge of Building Regulations for new builds and fit-outs

The successful clerk of works will have

  • ICWCI status
  • Experience across various sectors, including Education, Residential and Commercial
  • Ideally experience within a similar consultancy/private practice environment
  • The ability to read technical drawings and interpret contract programmes.
  • A good knowledge of site health and safety procedures.
  • Sound experience of technical building design and Building Regulations both in terms of new build and refurbishment / fit out.
  • Someone who has experience of working under both the JCT and NEC suite of contracts.
  • Strong communication skills including project reporting.
  • Someone who has the ability to work on a number of projects at any one time and manage their time accordingly
  • Clean UK driving license
