Cleaning Operative & General Assistant

Basis: Permanent

Shift Pattern: 4 hours per day, 5 days a week, Monday to Friday.

Location: Accrofab Derby – DE21 7RX

Main duties and responsibilities:

Responsibilities specific to the role

  • To dust, vacuum and mop and wipe surfaces in general areas: offices, toilets, general reception, meeting rooms, workshop area, canteen and kitchenette
  • Refilling and restocking cleaning supplies and toiletries
  • Maintaining cleaning products and ordering new supplies when necessary
  • Carrying out minor maintenance tasks such as replacing displaced toilets seats and unclogging sinks
  • Removal of waste in line with company environmental procedures
  • Adhere to COSHH and use general equipment and chemicals in accordance with company policy
  • Assist in maintenance tasks when required, specifically cleaning and preventative maintenance of machinery and other equipment
  • Performing and documenting routine inspection and maintenance activities
  • Carry out forklift driver duties when required

General Responsibilities

Comply with all company Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements.
To provide holiday and sickness cover for the labourer and general hand duties within part time hours. Additional hours to be agreed if required.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Essential

  • Excellent organisation and house keeping skills
  • Knowledge of COSHH regulations
  • Working knowledge of health and safety standards
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment

Desirable

  • Previous forklift truck training
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
