Position Overview: We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team in North Yorkshire. The ideal candidate will have a genuine desire to support individuals facing homelessness or at risk of homelessness, providing practical assistance, emotional support, and advocacy to help them stabilize their housing situation and access essential services. As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in empowering clients to overcome obstacles, build resilience, and regain control of their lives.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to individuals experiencing homelessness or housing instability, conducting assessments to identify their needs and develop personalized support plans.
  • Assist clients in accessing emergency accommodation, temporary housing, and permanent housing solutions, working closely with local housing authorities and partner organizations.
  • Offer practical assistance and guidance to clients in navigating the welfare system, accessing benefits, and securing employment or training opportunities.
  • Provide emotional support and crisis intervention to clients experiencing mental health issues, substance misuse, or other challenges impacting their well-being.
  • Advocate on behalf of clients to ensure they receive appropriate support and services from relevant agencies, including healthcare providers, social services, and community organizations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and external stakeholders to coordinate holistic support plans and facilitate access to wraparound services.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions, progress, and outcomes, adhering to confidentiality and data protection policies.
