We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join the team, focusing on providing support to children and adolescents. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting assessments, developing therapy programs, and delivering interventions to address speech and communication difficulties.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting comprehensive speech and language assessments for clients, identifying specific difficulties and communication needs.
  • Performing observations and tests to assess the impact of speech and communication difficulties on patients.
  • Developing individualised therapy programs based on the unique needs of each patient, in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
  • Managing a caseload effectively, considering priority cases, waiting lists, successful outcomes, and the referral and discharge of service users.
  • Providing ongoing support and guidance to clients and their families, facilitating their understanding of therapy goals and strategies.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, therapy sessions, progress reports, and other relevant documentation.
  • Staying informed about current research, best practices, and developments in the field of speech and language therapy, and integrate this knowledge into clinical practice.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech & Language Therapy, approved by HCPC and RCSLT.
  • HCPC Registration as a Speech & Language Therapist.
  • Proven experience working as a Speech & Language Therapist, with a focus on supporting children and/or adolescents.
  • Completion of relevant competencies and professional development activities.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of clients and their families.
  • Ability to manage a caseload efficiently, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing priorities and demands.
  • Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months. On the update service? You could be fast tracked through our recruitment process today.
  • Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS if you do not currently hold one.
