 We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Social Worker to join our Children's Referral and Assessment team.

Job title: Social Worker - Referral and Assessment

Job Type: Full time, Permanent

Hours: 36 hours per week

Salary: Up to £45,221 + welcome bonus & annual retention bonus totalling up to £2,500

?? Purpose:

  • Assess and provide services to children and families in need, adhering to relevant legislation, departmental procedures, and child care policy.

?? Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of the social, emotional, health, and environmental factors that affect the well-being and functioning of clients, using various methods and tools.
  • Developing and implementing intervention plans that are tailored to the specific needs and preferences of clients, in collaboration with them and other relevant parties
  • Providing direct services and support to clients, such as counselling, advocacy, mediation, crisis intervention, education, information, referral, and coordination of resources.

  • Reviewing and updating intervention plans as needed.

?? Knowledge & Skills:

  • Knowledge of the needs, strengths, and goals of children and families who are referred to children’s social services because of concerns about their safety and well-being, as well as the policies, laws, and regulations that govern social work practice in children’s services.
  • Knowledge of theories and models of referral and assessment, such as person-centred practice, safeguarding, mental capacity, effective assessments and outcome-based support planning, and crisis intervention.
  • Skills in conducting comprehensive assessments of the needs, strengths, and goals of children and families, using various methods and tools such as interviews, observations, questionnaires, scales, and tests.

?? Experience:

  • Appropriate and relevant experience and post-qualification experience of children and families social work within a statutory, voluntary or independent sector organisation.

?? Qualifications:

  • CQSW / DIPSW / Degree in Social Work or equivalent.

?? Special Conditions:

  • SWE Registered
  • Satisfactory DBS
  • Must have completed ASYE
