Reviewing Officer - Quality Improvement Service

Annual Salary: Up to £54,262 per annum plus additional benefits

Location: Bromley

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Reviewing Officer to join the Quality Improvement Service in the London Borough of Bromley. With a recent leap to ‘good’ overall and ‘outstanding’ leadership impact according to Ofsted, we are on a journey to excellence and seeking a highly talented and ambitious individual to contribute to improving outcomes for looked after children.

Day to Day of the role:

Prepare and chair looked after reviews for children, focusing on their welfare and timely achievement of permanence.

Chair initial and review child protection conferences.

Work within the Quality Improvement Service, providing a reviewing and quality assurance function across Children’s Social Care.

Engage in a ‘support and challenge’ role, adhering to the London Child Protection Procedures and the IRO Handbook.

Collaborate with a diverse range of services to ensure the best outcomes for children.

Maintain a caseload of 55-60 looked after children, reflecting the unique diversity and complexity within the borough.

Communicate effectively, be persistent, and courageously challenge when children’s needs are not being met.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Qualified social worker with management experience within statutory children’s social care.

Current SWE registration and a satisfactory DBS.

A current full driving licence is essential.

Completed ASYE.

Strong ability to chair multi-agency meetings and write SMART, child-focused plans.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage time effectively.

Knowledge of children and families issues, policy, research, and relevant legislation.

Experience in providing professional advice and chairing decision-making meetings.
