Position: Senior Residential Support Worker

Shift Pattern: 2 Days On, 3 Days Off (Including Sleep-In Shifts)

Salary: £12ph plus £50 sleep in rate

Position Overview: As a Residential Support Worker for Children with EBD, you will play a pivotal role in offering tailored care and guidance to children facing emotional and behavioural challenges. Your role will involve working closely with these young individuals, providing stability, comfort, and mentorship. This position follows a unique 2 days on, 3 days off shift pattern, which includes sleep-in shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a deep understanding of each child's unique needs, challenges, and strengths.
  • Create and maintain a structured and consistent environment that promotes positive behaviour and emotional growth.
  • Provide one-on-one and group support to children during activities and daily routines.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, therapists, and educational staff to implement personalised care plans.
  • Assist in teaching essential life skills, coping strategies, and social interactions.
  • Be a positive role model, offering guidance and encouragement to children.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports regarding children's progress, incidents, and achievements.
  • Ensure the safety, welfare, and protection of the children at all times.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young individuals with EBD is required
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on young lives.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility to work a 2 days on, 3 days off shift pattern, including sleep-in shifts.
  • Resilience and the ability to handle challenging situations with a calm and composed demeanour.
  • Level 3 in children and young people's services or equivalent is desirable (required for senior position)
