Our client is currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Children’s Residential Support Worker to join a 3-bed EBD service in Telford. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing care, support, and guidance to the residents, helping them to develop essential life skills and achieve their personal goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide emotional and practical support to residents in accordance with their individual care plans.
  • Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for residents, promoting independence and autonomy.
  • Assist residents with daily activities, including meal preparation, personal care, and household tasks.
  • Encourage and facilitate participation in recreational and social activities, both within the home and in the community.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of resident progress, incidents, and any concerns.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, external agencies, and families to ensure the best possible outcomes for residents.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a similar residential care setting, ideally with individuals with EBD.
  • Level 3 in Children and Young People (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with residents.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work, including the ability to work on a shift pattern of 2 on, 4 off, with sleep-ins required as part of the role.
  • A genuine passion for making a positive difference in the lives of others.
