Venn Group are looking to recruit for an experienced Children’s Home Registered Manager for a Local Authority based in Yorkshire.
Position: Children’s Home Registered Manager
Rate: £400 per day Umbrella
Hours: Full time
Contract: 3 months
The role with predominately involve:
- Managing a Children’s Home staff team and providing clear and effective leadership and model best practice, leading on interventions to train and develop others as required. You will be expected to take responsibility for the development of staff and participate in the recruitment and retention of staff.
- Taking leadership and management responsibility for the development and shaping of the home whilst ensuring dynamic and creative plans for children and young people living in the home, (especially those with a complex range of needs and behaviours due to, but not exclusively, early trauma and attachment)
- Managing the home in order to safeguard and promote the well-being of children and young people, taking the role as designated safeguarding lead for the home
- Responsible for leading the Regulation 44 monitoring visits and regulatory inspections from Ofsted, as well as supporting the team members to contribute to the process
- Completing the Regulation 45 Quality of Care Reviews every 6 months, ensuring that feedback is gained from all stakeholders to Inform and develop the Children’s Home Development Plan
- Ensuring children and young people are supported to attend school, enjoy leisure activities, stay healthy and kept safe. The children/young people we look after have experienced significant trauma, which requires high levels of compassion, empathy, resilience and understanding
- You will be required to become a Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Trainer to deliver TCI training across staff groups in the Children’s Homes and will successfully pass the TCI and TCI Train the Trainer courses to ensure you are qualified to do so
- Handling complaints and lead management investigations as required
- Working flexibly and participating in the Out Of Hours Children’s Homes duty rota, including the possibility of unsociable hours and shifts, including weekend and bank holiday working
- Promoting the service in the local community, ensuring the home has a positive role in the community and makes a positive contribution. This involves working with community groups and councillors as well as neighbours to the home
The successful candidate must have a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services.
