Child Support Worker - School Hours

Milk Education is partnered with a SEND School in Newcastle that is looking to appoint a passionate and enthusiastic full-time Child Support Worker. This is a full-time position that will start as soon as you're available and will possibly continue into the new academic year. You will be required to worth with children of all ages with learning disabilities and Autism as well as other complex care needs under the supervision of the class teacher. Hours are 08.30 - 15.30 Monday to Friday, term time only.

Child Support Worker skills and experience:

  • Have previous experience working with children or adults with SEND, learning disabilities or Autism.
  • Be passionate and understanding
  • Have confidence in managing challenging behaviour
  • Excellent organisational skills to keep on top of marking and lesson planning
  • Good communication skills

Child Support Worker duties and responsibilities:

  • Supervising the students in class, ensuring they complete set tasks
  • Delivering interventions
  • Guiding students through the curriculum
  • Managing behaviour
  • Upholding school’s behaviour and safeguarding policies
  • Personal care
