Do you have your Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification for a Chemistry teacher position in Secondary school?

If you possess a solid foundation in chemistry, a genuine enthusiasm for teaching, and the skill to captivate and motivate students in discovering the marvels of science, we eagerly welcome you to join us as a Chemistry teacher.

This school in Blackpool is looking for a committed Chemistry Teacher to join their team. The selected candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality Chemistry instruction to secondary school students and help them understand key concepts. This includes teaching students aged 11-18, creating interesting lesson plans, assessing their progress, and giving them helpful feedback.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to subject development by producing, reviewing and updating curriculum plans and schemes of work
  • Strong knowledge of the curriculum
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Teach classes allocated and provide a well planned challenging, purposeful learning environment
  • Develop approach to self - directed learning, use technology to support learning
  • Use assessment data to inform lesson planning
  • Set homework and mark promptly
  • Ensure a high quality of teaching and learning takes place
  • Deal with immediate problems/emergencies according to school policy and procedures
  • Respond to questioning
  • Supervise and support students in laboratory experiments and research projects.

  • Managing behaviour of pupils whilst undertaking work to ensure a constructive environment
  • Strong classroom management
  • Motivated and enthusiastic demeanour
  • Be an inspiring and engaging communicator
  • Use imagination and innovation to enhance learning experience

Personal attributes:

    • You will have a genuine passion for teaching
    • Experience up to key stage 3/4
    • QTS/PGCE equivalent
    • Be flexible and committed
