CCTV Parking Enforcement Officer

Working 5 days over 7

£16.45 Per hour

35 hours per week

Working a 7 hour shift between 7am - 10pm

Working in and around barking and Dagenham area

MUST have a UK Driving licence

MUST hold BTEC Qualification in CCTV Traffic Operation/CCTV enforcement Level 2 or 3 or equivalent in CCTV Parking Enforcement.

MUST have a minimum of 2 years recent experience within this area of work

Job details:

To use CCTV equipment from multiple locations, including mobile enforcement vehicles carrying out the enforcement of parking and moving traffic contraventions within the borough.

Attend and enforce School Keep Clear Zones within the borough, Ensuring the safety of children is kept to a high standard allowing them to enter and exit schools safely without been obstructed by vehicles been parked in contravention.

To review and assess footage of recorded parking and traffic contraventions and carry out the inputting and processing of data and images on the council's Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) processing system.

To collate video evidence for various purposes and co-ordinate and host video evidence viewings for colleagues and members of the public.

To maintain and run the Control Room for CCTV enforcement in an efficient manner.

To be responsible to the Parking Manager for enforcing the provisions of the traffic and parking regulations in respect of Moving Traffic Offences.

Be required to work a set shift pattern which may include, Nights, Evenings, Weekends, and as required by service needs.

To operate camera enforcement (monitoring and recording) and other associated equipment in the council's CCTV control rooms and in mobile enforcement vehicles in accordance with relevant policies, procedures and guidance.

To enforce parking and traffic regulations by cameras under the following legislation:

(i) Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended)

(ii) London Local Authorities Act 1996 (as amended)

(iii) London Local Authorities Act 2000 (as amended)

(iv) London Local Authorities and Transport for London Act 2003 (as amended)

(v) Traffic Management Act 2004 (as amended)

(vi) London Local Authorities and Transport for London Act 2008 (as amended)

(vii) Any other legislation.

To drive Council vehicles as and when required including undertaking daily check of fuel, oil and water levels, lights, tyres and general road worthiness before start of journey. Report defects or concerns in line with operational guidance. Follow designated signing in and out procedures.

To carry out enforcement duties using equipment as directed
