Catering Assistant
- Job Type: Full-time Monday - Friday 6am - 3pm
- Salary: £30k
We are looking for a dedicated Catering Assistant to join a vibrant catering team. The role involves preparing and serving meals, maintaining kitchen hygiene, and contributing to menu ideas. This position is ideal for someone with a passion for food service and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
Day to Day of the Role:- Assist with preparing approximately 80 hot meals and 20 cold meals per day.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Hygiene regulations and the kitchen’s Food Safety Management System.
- Maintain a tidy kitchen environment, including washing up, emptying the dishwasher, and waste removal.
- Contribute to the creation of a changing weekly menu.
- Refill tea/coffee stations and fruit bowls around the building as needed.
- Monitor stock levels and expiry dates daily.
- Assist with shopping orders and receiving deliveries.
- Level 2 certification in Food Hygiene and Safety.
- Previous experience in a similar catering support role.
- High standards of personal hygiene.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and demanding kitchen.
- Exceptional communication skills and self-motivation.
- Fluency in English.
- Ability to work under pressure with a high sense of urgency.
- Team player with the ability to work independently.
- Highly organised with strong multitasking and prioritisation skills.
- Professional and courteous demeanor.
- 22 days’ holiday per year, increasing to 25 after 1 year of service.
