My public sector client is looking to recruit a Category Specialist to join their team with a focus on estates and property. Reporting into the Category Lead, and working in a large procurement team, the role day to day will be responsible for developing and delivering all allocated sub-Category related procurement activities including category plans, market research, procurement strategy creation, the identification of new contract opportunities, the tendering process and initial implementation of procurement contracts across the organisation.

You will also be responsible for delivering sourcing and procurement strategies for the estates category, ensuring the development and delivery of new contacts are on time and aligned to contract expiry dates, where applicable.

As the successful candidate you will need to be able to demonstrate the following experience:

  • At least 5 years' experience in a Commercial role e.g. Category management or Procurement
  • Significant experience of procurement and commercial management in contracts of significant value across the appropriate category and worked as a leading Procurement professional in this broad area for a complex, public sector organisation.
  • Experience of working within the estates category area
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of contract law and the application of EU Public Procurement Regulations and legislation is essential, as well as preparing specifications and of preparing and evaluating tenders, including those operating under framework arrangements and EU directives.

This role can be based across multiple locations in the South Of England and will require travel to an office 2 days a week.

The salary on offer is £51,146 - £61,071 depending on location and experience.
