Category Manager - 6 Month Contract

Are you a people centric analytical individual with FMCG category management experience at leadership level? Our client is a leading FMCG business seeking a category manager to manage and develop 7 accounts. If you have commercial category experience, then this could be the role for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identifying opportunities for growth and potential risks within customer categories.
  • Developing strategic relationships with key customers.
  • Establishing robust internal relationships with colleagues in commercial and branding roles.
  • Leveraging both qualitative and quantitative data to provide comprehensive insights and recommendations.
  • Customising the Category Strategy to engage customers and achieve sustainable competitive growth.
  • Executing and managing strategic projects focused on category analysis, including promotional evaluations, analysis of underperforming segments, and optimisation of range and space.
  • Contributing to business planning through the definition of core product ranges, SKU optimization, and ongoing review and adjustment of new product developments and core products.
  • Enhancing sales pitches to customers with compelling category-based justifications.

Experience required:

  • 2-3 years in a category leadership role in FMCG
  • Turning macro, category, shopper and consumer data into actionable insight
  • Able to learn and extract actionable insight from a number of data sources e.g. Nielsen, iRi, Kantar, Mintel, Aimia, Dunnhumby, Sales Out
  • Leadership of projects across multiple teams
