Category Manager required by Food FMCG business. Applicants need category management skills gained within a marketing, product or portfolio focused role within; food, FMCG or retail sectors. 2 days onsite in Bournemouth.

The Category Manager will be responsible for developing opportunities to maximise product and portfolio synergies and profitability across the European Region. Based in Bournemouth x2 days per week, the Category Manager will collaborate closely with colleagues in; Business Development, Product Management, Project Management and Marketing across Europe.

Specific duties of the Category Manager include:

  • Monitor and improve portfolio & SKU performance -NPD / delistings etc
  • Drive profitable product mix and improve product mix revenue management
  • Market and Category Analysis activities
  • Develop Category and Product training presentations for distributors and customers
  • Maintain compliance with sales and marketing activity
  • Website maintenance and newsletter distribution
  • Contribute to development of Ecom agenda for portfolio/brand.

Category Manager applicants should meet following criteria:

  • Experience of product portfolio development within FMCG, Food or Retail
  • Project Management skills
  • Experience of analysing data sets.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and professional skills
  • Business/Commercial acumen, financial management and marketing skills, allied with a strategic mindset
  • Comfortable in a matrix structured organisation with a requirement to be in Bournemouth 2 days per week.
