Ashberry Recruitment are currently looking for Casual Housing Night Workers for our well-respected client based in Burnley.

As a Housing Night Worker, you will be providing assistance with Housing Management functions and will often be the first point of contact.

Some of your duties and responsibilities will be as follows:

  • Carrying out health and safety checks on the building and residents.
  • Administration tasks in a supported accommodation environment, to contribute to the safe and effective running of the service.
  • Provide the reception service, respond to enquiries, and monitor the CCTV.
  • Record individual resident information, report any accidents or incidents, and take part in daily handovers.
  • Ensure maintenance or repairs are identified and logged.
  • Assist in the liaison with specialist agencies e.g. emergency services, social care, local authorities, and housing as required.
  • Prepare rooms for arrival of new residents.

Skills

  • Effective and confident interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to record information on a computerised system and assess risk whilst considering trauma informed practices.
  • Effective time management skills and ability to prioritise important tasks.
  • Ability to effectively de-escalate challenging situations.
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative to make informed choices in a safe and professional manner.
  • Ability to work as part of, and desire to contribute to, a passionate and supportive team.
  • Efficient and accurate data entry and record keeping skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and support people in a non-judgmental way, to maximise the chances for positive change.
  • Understanding of the factors that cause homelessness and with ability to promote positive change.
  • Knowledge and experience of working in an environment that delivers services to individuals with a diverse range of needs.
  • Experience of working in a people-focused and on occasion challenging environment.
  • Experience identifying needs and risk and taking appropriate action.
  • Good knowledge and use of IT systems

Requirements for the role:

  • Enhanced DBS Check
  • Must have a proven track record of providing information, advice and guidance to clients
  • Knowledge and understanding of basic IT suitable for an office environment
  • Knowledge of basic housing management tasks and working with vulnerable individuals
