Job Purpose:

The Conwy Employment Hub Case Worker will provide a flexible, high quality service, working as part of an integrated 'Conwy Employment Hub’ approach.

Working closely with the Conwy Employment Hub Employment Mentors and other team members, the new Employment Case Worker will enhance the support available to participants across the whole of Conwy by encouraging our participants to undertake a broad range of activities and achieve definite outcomes. Our participants will often have complex barriers and are in poverty or at risk of being in poverty.

The Employment Case Worker will work with participants to maximise their potential, through a person centred and strengths based approach,to overcome barriers to employment whilst working collaboratively with Employment Mentors to achieve outcomes. These could include activities such as theorganisation and collection of clothes for work, travel tickets, booking training courses, running drop in sessions such as IT support with digital literacy, (how to use computers), updating CVs, help with job searching and application forms and interview preparation.

Conwy Employment Hub is dedicated to tackling poverty through sustainable employment, providing intensive employment mentoring and support which is proven to be effective in supporting change and progression for individuals both from evidence in Wales and more widely.

Conwy Employment Hub offers a person centred approach to support and its effectiveness in allowing people to develop their own resilience within situations, supporting people into employment and working collaboratively with other organisations to achieve this.

Duties and Responsibilities - Job Specific

Work within the local Conwy Employment Hub team towards thedevelopment,implementationandongoingoperations, complementing and not duplicating existing provision, providing a continuum of support and progression routes enabling the participant to make positive steps towards employment.

Engage with individuals in conversations to gather information about their needs ensuring that all relevant support is accessed and available to the individual.

Organize and provide1-2-1 and group sessions tailored to the needs of the participants who have signed up to Conwy Employment Hub, supporting them to build their confidence and motivation whilst on their journey towards education, employment and training.

The individual will have the responsibility to work in a person centered way; adaptable to the needs of the participants and to work closely with them to address low level barriers preventing them from gaining employment. Responsibleforsupporting Employment Mentors to move their participants closer towards employment using a variety of techniques and personal support, building on positive relationships and developing effective processes.

Requirements

Experience of working with people in the field of community work within the public, voluntary or community sector ideally in an educational, employment advice setting or social care.

Experience of providing support either in an employment based or similar intensive support service with hard to reach individuals with multiple needs who are experiencing poverty and/or barriers to employment.

Experience of working for an externally funded project

Experience of monitoring and recording processes for legislative and regulatory compliance.

Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise work, deal with conflicting priorities and meet deadlines and achieve goals.

Comprehensive IT skills and ability to maintain electronic records, with attention to detail.

Knowledge of related services provided by the statutory, voluntary and private sector.

Demonstrable customer care skills to include an understanding of customer service in a service delivery setting, knowledge ofconfidentiality and data protection issues and a commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
