Carpenter - Facilities Upgrade Team

Randstad Engineering are currently recruiting for a Facilities Upgrade Team Supervisor with a Carpentry background to come and work for TATA Steel in Port Talbot (SA13 2NG).

This is a rolling contract position paying £17 per hour, working Monday - Friday on a day shift (7am to 3pm).

The Role

The purpose of this role is to undertake all required facilities upgrade works across the Port Talbot steelworks site. You will be reporting to the Site Services Senior Civil Engineer.

Responsibilites include but are not limited to -

  • Facilities Upgrade team members to deliver a professional project management service, ensuring all work is completed safely, on time, to correct standard and quality.
  • Ensure upgrade projects are managed and compliant from Inception to completion/handover to client.
  • Be able to plan, schedule, and manage small building projects.
  • Understand the process HAZID, HAZOP, MoC and ensure they are applied when required.
  • Liaise with Works Managers, Senior Managers, Works Engineers, and Production Engineers on planned works.
  • Fully understand and comply with the companies Health & Safety Policy and relevant statutory duties.
  • Inspects works areas before work commences ensuring good access, site clearance and safe working conditions in conjunction with Departmental Engineers/Managers.
  • Inspect and report on all accidents and dangerous occurrences (RIDDOR).
  • Drives departmental hire van as of when required.

Knowledge & Experience

A time served trade background is desirable with proof of work history in the required field (ideally carpentry but plastering, plumbing will be accepted)
