Assistant Caretaker - Permanent, Par-time Job.

  • Location: Stanmore, Northwest London, HA7
  • Working Hours: One week 34.5h, another week 22h, average 28.25h/week, during whole year.
  • First week: Monday & Wednesday 3 p.m.-10 p.m., Tuesday 3 p.m. - 8 p.m., Friday 6.30 p m - 9.30 p.m.  Saturday 7.30 a.m. – 3 p.m. & Sunday 8 a.m. -1 p.m. (34.5-hour week)
  • Second week: Monday & Wednesday 3 p.m. - 10 p.m., Tuesday 3 p.m. - 8 p.m. and Friday 6.30 p.m. - 9.30 p.m. (22-hour week)
  • Salary: Competitive £24,242/annual (based on 40h/week), £17,114/pro rata (based on 28.25-hourweek).

We are looking for a dedicated Assistant Caretaker to join the team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and security throughout our premises. This role is essential in supporting the smooth operation of the organisation and ensuring a welcoming environment for all stakeholders.

Day to Day of the role:

  • General cleaning of premises and offices, including kitchens, fridges, cookers, and toilets. Handling food in accordance with
  • Food Safety guidelines and undertaking a Food Safety and hygiene certificate.
  • Maintaining the grounds and landscape areas to ensure they are tidy and well-kept.
  • Opening and closing the premises as required, always ensuring security.
  • Preparing premises for events such as weddings and meetings, and ensuring areas are clean and tidy post-event. Managing stocks of materials, food, and equipment, and ensuring proper storage.
  • Accepting and signing for deliveries and addressing any discrepancies.
  • Assisting with maintenance tasks and reporting any defects or repairs needed.
  • Upholding Health and Safety standards in accordance with policy.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Fluent in both written and oral communication.
  • Proactive team member with a positive contribution to the wider team’s success.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience in a similar role is advantageous.
  • Willingness to undertake training as required and committed to continuous professional development.
  • Due to the nature of the role, a valid and current enhanced DBS certificate is required.
