School Caretaker required for sickness cover in Bridgwater – TA6
  • £12.38 per hour PAYE
  • 37 hours per week
  • During school holidays, working hours are Monday – Thursday, 9am – 5pm and 9am - 4.30pm on Fridays
  • During term time, working hours are alternate weeks of 6.30am-2:30pm (1pm Fridays) and 2.00pm-10pm (9.30pm on Friday).

About the job
  • Carry out regular checks of all school and ensure that everything is in good working order.
  • Move furniture and equipment, change room layouts, as required.
  • Carrying out minor repairs such as mending broken windows, changing light bulbs
  • Maintaining the grounds and removing litter and removing any graffiti
  • Maintain site security including unlocking the site buildings in the morning ahead of people arriving and locking up at the end of the day. This includes setting building alarms.
  • Regular cleaning of sports hall floor using a mechanical washer/drier.

The right candidate
  • Experience in undertaking basic maintenance and repairs.
  • Good verbal communication skills; the ability to deal with students, staff, visitors and parents in a friendly manner
  • Basic Literacy and Numeracy skills
  • Good practical/DIY skills
  • Happy to undertake a DBS criminal record check prior to starting work
